Offer FlexiLay payment plans from Odoo

The FlexiLay module for Odoo 18 works two ways: send customers a payment-plan link straight from an invoice, and offer FlexiLay as a payment option at your Odoo eCommerce checkout. Either way, deposits and instalments collect automatically into your own Stripe account.

1

Install the FlexiLay module

The FlexiLay module supports Odoo 18. Add it to your addons and install it from the Apps menu — a FlexiLay menu appears once installed. If you need the module package or a hand installing it, email support@flexilay.com and we'll sort you out.

2

Register and complete onboarding

Open the FlexiLay menu — your instance registers itself with FlexiLay on first use. New accounts get a quick review; you'll receive an email when approved. Then finish the onboarding checklist from the same menu: accept the merchant terms and connect your Stripe account. Payments settle directly to your Stripe; FlexiLay never holds funds.

3

Send payment-plan links from invoices

On any customer invoice you'll find a FlexiLay action that creates a payment plan for the invoice amount and gives you a secure link where your customer chooses their deposit and schedule and pays the deposit by card. You can also work from the FlexiLay dashboard: an Odoo tab lists your unpaid invoices with a Create Plan action on each. As the plan progresses, FlexiLay posts updates to the invoice's activity log — paid in full, overdue, or cancelled — so the story is visible right on the invoice.

You can check the connection any time from the dashboard's Odoo Invoices page (user menu → Odoo Invoices) — it shows whether the addon is reporting in, and the API key the addon uses.

Optional: use the invoice due date as a payment deadline

When you create a plan from the dashboard's Odoo tab and the invoice's due date is still in the future, the Create Plan dialog offers a checkbox: require the plan to be fully paid by the invoice due date. Tick it and your customer's schedule options are limited so every instalment falls on or before that date — if the date is too close for instalments, they pay in full at setup. It's a per-invoice choice, unticked by default, and invoices that are already overdue never show the option (instalment plans routinely run past a due date, so nothing changes unless you ask for it).

4

Offer FlexiLay at your eCommerce checkout

If you use Odoo eCommerce, the module also registers FlexiLay as a payment provider. Enable it under your payment providers and it appears at checkout alongside your other methods — customers pick FlexiLay, pay a deposit on the secure FlexiLay page, and the order tracks the plan from there.

For date-sensitive orders, the checkout honours the sale order's delivery (commitment) date (module 18.0.5.2.0+): when one is set, the customer's instalment options are limited so the plan is fully paid on or before that date, falling back to a single pay-in-full payment when the date is too close. Orders without a commitment date are unaffected.

Lay-by: fulfil once the plan shows completed (paid in full) — FlexiLay is not a credit product; customers finish paying before goods are supplied.
