FlexiLay adds a lay-by payment option to your Shopify checkout. Customers pay a deposit today and the balance in scheduled instalments — collected automatically into your own Stripe account. Setup takes about ten minutes and needs no code.
Search for FlexiLay in the Shopify App Store and install it. The app opens inside your Shopify admin. Shopify stores are approved automatically — you can start onboarding straight away.
The app walks you through a short checklist: accept the merchant terms and connect your Stripe account. Every payment goes directly to your Stripe — FlexiLay schedules the charges but never holds your funds. If you don't have Stripe yet, the connect step creates an account as part of the flow.
When the app prompts you, install the FlexiLay payment gateway, then go to Shopify admin → Settings → Payments and activate FlexiLay. It appears alongside your existing payment methods at checkout — customers who want to pay in full keep using your other options.
Install the gateway from the link inside the FlexiLay app — that link ties the gateway to your account so it activates correctly.
A customer who selects FlexiLay at checkout is taken to a secure FlexiLay payment page to choose their deposit and schedule, and pays the deposit by card (Apple Pay / Google Pay supported). The order then appears in Shopify as paid via FlexiLay, and instalments collect automatically — including retries, overdue reminders and receipts.
Testing: ask us to enable demo mode on your account and you can walk the whole checkout without a real charge.
